TRIBAL ITINERARY

DAY-1- ARRIVAL - Bhubaneshwar

On arrival in Bhubaneshwar transfer to hotel.

On arrival at Bhubaneswar airport transfer to the hotel. Later if time permit half day sightseeing of famous city temples including Rajarani ( it was constructed in the 10th and 11th century from reddish gold sandstone which is locally known as Rajarani and this is what gives the temple its name of ‘Raja Rani’), Parsurameswar ( built in 650 AD, is one of the oldest temples existing in Bhubaneswar & typical example of the Orissan style oftemple architecture ) , Mukteswar ( Gem of Orissan architecture ), Brahmeswar ( built in 11th century AD, is a milestone in the temple architecture of Orissa) & Lingaraj ( it was built in 1114 AD to the glory of Shiva & is the biggest temple in Bhubaneswar) . Overnight at Bhubaneswar.

BHUBANESWAR: The city known for its temples is a major centre of attraction fortourist from far and wide. It is probably the only city that enables an authentic over view of the stages of development of Hindu temple architecture. It is the place where temple building activities of Odisha style flowered from its very inception to its fullest culmination extending over a period of one thousand years. Today Bhubaneswar is an embodiment of its dashing modernity and glorious past. The city is past
metamorphosing to a modern metropolis with all round development. Excellent infrastructures are coming-up in all respect.

DAY-2 Bhubaneshwar – Dhauli –Pipili- Raghuraj Pur –puri (55 KM/05 HRS WITH SIGHT SEEING)

Morning after breakfast drive to Puri enroute visit Dhauli the peace pagoda, Pipli the applique work village & Raghurajpur(Unesco Heritage Village) craft village ( the most famous attraction here is the Pattachitra, paintings on pieces of fabric ). On arrival at Puri check in to the hotel. Later visit to Jagannath temple ( non hindus are not allowed ) / Relax on the golden beach of Puri. Overnight at Puri.

DAY-3 PURI- KONARK-PURI (35 KM)

Morning visit to Jagannathfrom the top of Raghunandan Library, (Non hindus are not allowed ). Then drive to Konark to visit the Sun temple ( one of the world famous heritage site ). Enroute visit Ramchandi temple, Chandrabhaga beach & fishermens village. Return back to Puri. Evening visit to beach market. Overnight at Puri.
PURI: Puri is one of the four main Hindu pilgrim centres in India and is famous for its Jagannath Temple. This 65 metre high temple built in the 12th century AD dominates the landscape. The grand edifice has all the richness and plasticity of the Kalinga style of architecture. Over one million people flock to this holy place every year to participate in the Rath Yatra or Car Festival. This annual ritual spreads over the entire summer and monsoon seasons making this the most fruitful time to visit Puri. Puri is well-known for its golden beach with miles of yellow sand, blue waves, white surf and bright sunshine. It is a pleasure to swim here as the sea is shallow, but be careful of under-currents at some pockets. With equable climate, Puri is a popular tourist resort frequented by visitors through out the years.

DAY-4- Puri-Chilka Lake-Gopal Pur on sea. (175 Kms / 06 hrs approx)

Morning drive to Chilika lake at Barkul ( the largest brackish water lake ). At Chilika take the boat cruies to explore the Birds island ( it is heaven for the resident & migratory birds ) & Nalabana island ( it is a forest of reeds & is famous for long range migratory birds in winter ). Then proceed to Gopalpur and check in to the hotel. Overnight at Gopalpur.
GOPALPUR: Gopalpur-on-sea is a quiet & charming sea resort along the Bay of Bengal, in the district of Ganjam, Odisha. As an important port during the mediaeval period Gopalpur-on-sea, today has the traces of an old jetty. The golden sand of the blue water sea here make the beach one of the most sought after beaches of the country. The old light house, the fishermen, five star hotels and resorts in a calm and serene atmosphere, only a few kms. Away from the busy Berhampur city make it a perfect place to spend the leisure far from the madding crowd. The newly constructed port here has enhanced its importance as a commercial centre. It offers secluded environment & magnificent, sun, surf & sand for most of the year.
DAY-5- GOPAL PUR- TAPTA PANI-RAYGADA (230 KM /5 HRS)

Morning drive to Rayagada enroute visit Taptapani the hot sulpheric spring (the hot water spring bubbling with sulphur content is the prime attraction ). & Saura tribal villages . On arrival at Rayagada check in to the hotel. Overnight at Rayagada.
DAY-6- Rayagada – Chatikona – Jaypore (175 Kms / 06 hrs approx)

After breakfast drive down to Chatikona to watch the interesting colorful weekly market of Dongoria Kondha Tribes (weekly market commence on Wednesday only). This tribe is one of the most primitive tribe of the Kondha and they live in the high slopes of the Niyamagiri Hills. Then visit to Minapai (the bamboo craft village.)After visit drive to Jeypore.
This place abounds in meadows, forests, waterfalls, terraced valleys and darting springs. This land of abundance is home to Orissa's vast tribal population. A real paradise for the nature-lover, Koraput offers an additional benefit to the visitor of first hand meeting with its ancient civilization.
On arrival check into your hotel. Overnight in the Hotel.
DAY-7 Jaypore – Ankadeli - Jaypore (96 Kms / 02 ½ hrs approx)

After early breakfast, drive to Ankadeli to visit the famous Bonda tribes (weekly market commence on Thursday only), who comes once every week for their weekly market. It is a unique opportunity to see such a colorful concentration of typical tribals at one place. Most interesting is to watch the Bonda woman in their colorful Jewelries and marketing commodities.
After visit drive back to Jaypore. Overnight in the Hotel.

DAY-8 Jaypore – Kunduli – Jagdalpur (220 Kms / 06 hrs approx)

After breakfast drive to Kunduli to visit the weekly market of Paraja & Mali tribes (weekly market commence on Friday only). It is the biggest market of the tribal area.
On coming back to Jeypore visit tribal museum at Koraput.
It is located behind the Jagannath Temple. Tribal Museum displays a collection of stone sculptures, metal images, metal objects, jewelry, terracotta, wooden objects, textiles and anthropological objects. A small zoo is also functioning inside the museum. Library facilities are available.
After lunch drive to Jagdalpur. The name jadgal is taken from word jadgal. Jadgal is a sindhi origin and use to speak smart sindhi language.
On arrival check into your hotel. Overnight in the Hotel..

DAY-9 Jagdalpur
After breakfast visit the popular Bison-Horn Maria tribe known for their weaving, dance & hospitality. Later visit the rich forest of Kanger Valley National Park and its attractions which include the Kailash caves or gushing cataracts of Tirathgarh).
Overnight at the hotel.

DAY-10 Jagdalpur – Chitrakut – Kanker (225 Kms / 06 hrs approx)

After breakfast visit to Chitrakut to see the popular waterfall. After visit proceed to Kanker en-route visit muria tribal villages. On arrival transfer to hotel. Overnight in the Hotel.

DAY-11 KANKER

After breakfast visit the Gond Tribal villages. Also visit the tribal beedi making village , visit to the village of Deer-Horn Muria tribe and get a glimpse of the Gotul system. Later visit to the site of some pre-historic rock paintings set amidst forest of Urkuda. Evening free for independent activities or visit the small town of Kanker.
DAY-12 Kanker - Kwardha
After breakfast drive to Kwardha, en-route visit the Gond tribal villages and the site of pre-historic rock paintings. Later drive to Kawardha.
Kwardha - Kwardha is known as known as the "Last Independent Fort" of India. Now the remains of this historic fort lies as an evidence of our glorious past. Daya and Kuakhai rivers flow through Khurda. It is also renowned for its Brass utensils cottage industries, cable factory, spinning mill, watch repairing factory, railway coach repairing factory and oil Industry.
On arrival transfer to hotel. Overnight in the Hotel.
DAY-13 Kwardha – Bharamdeo – Kwardha

After breakfast short trek to the remote Baiga & Gond tribal villages.
Baiga & Gond tribes - The Baigas are the most primitive and interesting forest tribal of the district; but they have completely lost their language, if they ever had one, speak Hindi, and profess to scorn knowledge of Gondi. Their origin is obscure, but they are almost certainly older established than the Gonds, and while retaining their religious ascendancy over them, were gradually pressed by them into the fastnesses of Eastern Mandla, which are now their home. Their own idea of their origin closely resembles our history of the creation. Nanga and his wife Nangi, the ancestors of the whole human race, had two sons who married their sisters; from the elder of them is sprung the Baiga caste, while the younger is the progenitor of the rest of the human race. There are Baigas to be found here and there all over the district, but their principal habitat is in the recesses of the Maikal Range to the east of the District. They are the priests and wizards of the Gonds, and to some extent also of the Hindus.Evening visit Radha Krishna Temple, Saroda Reservoir and famous Bhoramdeo Temples.
After visit drive back to hotel. Overnight in the Hotel.

DAY-14 Kwardha – Rai Pur (350 Kms / 08 hrs approx)

After breakfast drive to Raipur. visit Rajim & Siripur temples, Raipur museum, local market. Overnight Raipur.

DAY-15

After breakfast in time transfer to airort for connect flight to further destination.
